FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most about the France Talent Passport.

What is the France Talent Passport processing time in 2026?

Processing times depend on the consulate and the time of year, and they can range from several weeks to a few months. We give you a realistic estimate once we know where you will apply.

Do I need to speak French to apply for the Talent Passport?

French is not normally required to obtain the initial card, though it helps greatly in running a business. Language requirements apply later if you apply for long-term residence or citizenship.

Can I include my children in the application?

Yes. Your spouse and dependent children can apply for the Talent Family card, which allows your spouse to work in France. We prepare the full family file with yours.

What if I do not have a Master’s degree?

You can still qualify with around five years of professional experience at a comparable level, as long as you can document it clearly. We review your background and advise on the strongest route.

What is the difference between the two business routes?

The business creation route needs an investment of at least €30,000 in a real project. The innovative project route has no fixed minimum, but your project must be recognised as innovative by a French public body.

Can I work for another employer on this card?

The card is based on your business activity, and changing the nature of your work can affect your status. We advise you before you make any change.

Do you guarantee approval?

No one can. The final decision rests with the French authorities. What we do is make sure your application is complete, accurate and well prepared, which gives you the strongest possible chance.
